Plenty of water to drink, a water safe bag, water shoes, sun protection (sunscreen, sunglasses, hat), a change of clothes if preferred.

Chincoteague island tours are suitable for almost everyone 5 and up with at-least moderate physical ability.

A hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are highly recommended during the sunny summer months. Loose fitting, light weight outdoor clothing that will dry quickly is ideal for paddling, but any kind of clothing you would wear to the beach works well. Long sleeve and long pants are great for sun and bug protection. Water shoes are also a plus.

We recommend booking the tour that offers the best chances to experience what interests you the most. Usually this means knowing the tides. If you are most interested in exploring lots of creeks and a higher probability (never guaranteed) of seeing larger wildlife, such as ponies, then we recommend booking the tour nearest high tide. If you are more interested in getting a hands on experience with nature, holding critters and exploring a secluded beach then we recommend booking near low tide. The waterways around Chincoteague and Assateague Islands are home to an abundance of wildlife including ponies, dolphins, sting rays, a beautiful variety of birds, and much more. We take you to the best places to maximize your potential wildlife sightings. Every day is different in this habitat, so there is no telling what we might encounter on any given day. Nature is unpredictable and we cannot make any guarantees as to what you will see (no one can).

It is customary in the United States to give a gratuity to service staff who have done a great job, just as you would for your server at a restaurant. Our guides work very hard to give you the best experience possible! Typical gratuity ranges from 10% -20% based on your experience. It is not required, but greatly appreciated.
